Let me show you the types of work that I have accomplished over my design career.

I like to say…

“An emotional product is a powerful product…”

Design Strategy

Much of my work has been strategic in nature. Even as a graphic designer, my offices were hired to lead strategic design efforts. As an experience designer, projects have become increasingly product/service hybrids. Determining the value proposition to customers is central to these service ecosystems. Of the hundreds of projects accomplished across my years as a designer, those highlighted below represent pivotal work.

Experience Design

My core strength is to identify services that are simple, effective, and powerful. There are many designers who can design for the present using the systems provided to execute product features. Few look into the future to understand how technology will provide new capabilities and customers will require that new needs be met. I have been repeatedly hired to stand up new capabilities and to ensure that the design meets the highest standards.

I have designed many other products and services, so please request information.

Design Facilitation

Facilitating and teaching others to design has been an incredibly important part of my career. Supporting multi-disciplinary teamwork through the creation of process and building teams has been accomplished for many companies. Facilitating workshops in corporate and educational environments has been continuous. Building content and coursework to develop future designers drives personal research and development efforts. Leadership means creating new leaders.

Facilitation, workshop, and education efforts include:

  • CEDIM Design Thinking Certificate Classes — Research and Prototyping

  • Tyson Innovation Design Thinking Workshops

  • Institute of Design Graduate Coursework — Design Practice and Design Measurement

Exploratory Experiences

Identifying future behaviors and opportunities has been a central part of my work. My first mobile website was created in 1999. My first mobile apps were being designed before Apple launched their SDKs. Living and behaving in the future is second nature to me.

Projects represented here include:

  • Hitchhike Rideshare App

  • DashDot Smart Device

  • RoadApples Driving Assistant

  • Plak iPad Design App

  • RTHM Productivity App

  • Grainger WorkBench

  • Grainger G-List Sensor

  • Grainger InStock

Branding & Visual Communication

My career began as a graphic designer and printer in high school. My first office designed and managed the creation of educational materials for most of the major publishers. I led the design of the largest program in the industry — Scott Foresman Reading Street — including the selection of the many other offices that would contribute to the program containing thousands of items. Creativity is my relaxation.

Projects represented here include:

  • Betty On-demand Beaty Service

  • Connect Search Brand

  • OpenStem Identity

  • Correlation One Identity

  • Grant Thornton HR Communications

  • Joffrey Ballet Advertisements

  • Childrens Defense Fund Calendars
