My Health Summary Research

Nicholas collaborated with Heartland Health Centers to explore their patient engagement experience. Partnering with care providers and patients, co-designed experience improvements were identified to help support better information sharing. This work was completed at the start of COVID and a renewed effort to explore remote engagement experiences is needed.

Betty Business Design

Betty was an on-demand beauty startup founded by a small team including an academic teammate. Over the course of several years, this team produced a series of business validation tests, designed technology services and hired professional stylists to provide services to clients. The journey was an incredible learning experience that is a great example of how business design can impact entrepreneurial efforts.

BMW Design Sprints

Nicholas led a series of Design Sprints for BMW with a Chicago-based agency. The team conducted ideation sessions and produced prototypes used to conduct research with customers in local dealerships. The effort included “actionable” personas and customer journeys developed to manage research questions and to guide decision-making. This research was used to launch new BMW Connected apps at CES in 2016. (image: BMW Blog)
